Looking Back… 2024 Recap!
A few of this years highlight moments!
Year in Review: 2024
As we start another year, I love reflecting on the projects, collaborations, and milestones that made the previous year so fulfilling. Here at CSI, it has been a year of creativity, growth, and gratitude for the clients and vendors who make my work so rewarding!
January: Setting the Tone for a Creative Year
The year began with an exciting opportunity to collaborate with Southern Heritage, a showroom at our local furniture mart. I was honored to be asked to design and decorate a living room space in their showroom. This project was not only a chance to showcase my design strengths, but also to work closely with local vendors whose craftsmanship and quality I greatly value. The experience just reinforced how much I enjoy collaborating with local businesses to bring beautiful spaces to life!
Alongside this project, I continued honing my sketching and rendering skills, creating detailed visuals for clients. Starting the year with these engaging projects set a tone of inspiration and creativity for the months ahead.
February: Progress and Site Visits
February brought the opportunity to visit two exciting projects under construction: a condo in Blowing Rock and a local lake house. Seeing these spaces take shape was incredibly rewarding!
March: Lake House Styling Complete
In March, I had the pleasure of putting the finishing touches on the lake house project. Styling the space and tweaking every detail to perfection was the culmination of months of collaboration and planning.
April: High Point Market and Playroom Beginnings
April was highlighted by the High Point Furniture Market—always a favorite! Exploring the newest designs and trends is always invigorating. I also began work on a playroom/gaming room transformation, starting with sketches and selection ideas.
May: Celebrations and Final Touches
May was a month of celebrations, with Maverick and Maggie’s birthdays bringing joy to the season. I also finalized the styling of an Airbnb project that turned out beautifully. Additionally, I worked on finish selections and options for a commercial project close to my heart.
June: Details and Family Time
June was a time to focus on the finer details of ongoing projects while enjoying some fun moments with Maverick.
July: Condo Install and Summer Fun
July was a milestone as we completed the installation and accessorizing of the Blowing Rock condo we had been working on for a year. Adding accessories, art, lamps, rugs, and bedding brought the space to life beautifully. I also enjoyed some golf with my girl and her guy—a summer highlight!
August: Inspiring Sketches and Renderings
In August, another project came to life as I created sketches and renderings to excite my client about the possibilities. Seeing their enthusiasm grow was a highlight of the month.
September: Custom Cabinetry and Special Moments
September saw the installation of a custom cabinet for the playroom/gaming room—a piece I absolutely love. I also treasured some special time with Maggie and Maverick while diving into a new project filled with fun ideas, sketches, and renderings.
October: Market, Milestones, and More
October is always a bustling time, and this year was no exception. BJ (my newest employee!) and I visited High Point Market again, which brought incredible inspiration and seminars, while my birthday added a personal highlight. Spending a day with my girl to celebrate capped the month beautifully.
November: Decking the Halls
November marked the start of Christmas decorating, a joyful tradition made special by wonderful clients who trust me to bring holiday cheer into their homes. Each day was made better by the companionship of my little furry friend, at home and out shopping!
December: Embracing Peace and Joy
December seemed to fly by, but it was filled with warmth and joy. I completed my holiday decorating mid-month and then enjoyed a peaceful Christmas with friends and family. Over the years, I’ve learned to give myself grace and let go of the pressure to do it all. This year, I truly embraced the peace of the season and cherished the moments that matter most.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As I look forward to the new year, my focus remains on designing timeless spaces for clients who are building or remodeling their forever homes. My goal is to work more efficiently, continuing to refine my processes while delivering exceptional results.
